Future climate projections

The extremes that are likely to impact the natural and human systems primarily link to changes in rainfall and temperature. There is a need for better understanding of the nature of extremes and how this might change and study consequent impacts on drylands in particular. One of the key approaches under this project includes capturing the physical basis of exposure to extreme events using modelling and statistical tools and techniques. The study will generate scenarios of exposure to extreme events i) over a high spatial resolution (25 * 25 km), and ii) for specific future time slices i.e. 2030s, 2050s and 2070s. Outputs of this analysis will be used to further study the impacts of these extremes on the natural and human systems.
