GO4Youth 2022
Applicable for students pursuing graduate and post graduate courses from institutions of higher learning.
Background
Since the formal adoption of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015, governments and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) have been calling out to youth for a meaningful participation in decision making and implementation of post 2015 agenda. Against this commitment, GO4Youth was launched on the sidelines of GREEN Olympiad. It is an annual MCQ-based examination for undergraduate and postgraduate students that evaluates environmental consciousness, behaviour, and aptitude of individuals. The examination strives to enhance students’ knowledge of sustainability issues—thus providing an understanding of youth perspectives about major concerns. A few issues covered by GO4Youth are Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Climate Change, Resource Efficiency, Energy Transition, Biodiversity, Green Skills, and Sustainable Agriculture.
GO4Youth is supported by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, which has more than 750 member organizations, 23 regional and national networks, 127 countries, and 2600 programme members with 195 volunteers. An endorsement is also received from the South Asian Chapter (hosted by TERI), comprising of more than 60 member organizations and 5 SDG Hubs from three countries.
