Xana Belastegui is founder and CBO (Chief Business Officer) at Iden Biotechnology.
Xana Belastegui Macadam joined the R&D Department of Iden Biotechnology in 2007, initially as R&D Project
Manager and from 2008 until 2015 as R&D Director.
She holds a degree and PhD in Biological Sciences (University of the Basque Country (Spain)) and has developed
her career in public institutions both in Spain and abroad mainly in the research area of plant physiology,
nutrition and water relations both at biochemical and molecular level.
Iden Biotechnology S.L. is a private agribiotech company founded in 2005 with the mission to serve the needs
of the agri-food industry. We focus our activity on the development and commercialization of advanced and
sustainable technologies and products to increase crop yield. We search, envision and develop innovative
solutions to global needs of agriculture and environment. The success of our business model relies on a deep
understanding of the agri-food sector needs, thanks to a close collaboration with the industry. The company
has two main areas of R&D activity: crop improvement technologies and agrobiological products development.
