With a Ph.D. in Agricultural Chemicals from Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi (1991), I have over
25 years of research experience. Currently working as Senior Fellow and Area Convenor at TERI and leading
research on bio pesticide, bioprospecting , analytical chemistry, IPM, and natural products. The important areas
of work are analytical and natural product chemistry, development of botanical pesticides, endophytes, study
pesticides residue in plants and soils, metabolism of pesticides in plants, development of pest management
modules and their demonstration at farmer’s field, development satisfactory under field conditions.Have
developed botanical biopesticide “ Bollcure” from Eucalyptus leaf extract which is registered with CIBRC.
Have extensive experience in pesticide research , product development , registration, patenting, marketing
and working with farming community. Have designed the pest management modules for rice, sugarcane and
vegetables and successfully demonstrated and validated. She was awarded Chochran Fellowship from USDA in
2003 , Royal Fellowship of The Government of Netherlands awarded in the year 2005, DBT Crest fellowshipmin
2013. As an adjunct faculty for TERI-University since 2001, she is guiding students for the doctorate, in the
area of bioprospecting. She has authored 47 papers in refereed journals, 105 proceedings/abstracts. 23
patents granted/ applied patents. Handled many International and national projects as PI .Served as Editor of
Phytochemistry Reviews. Organized several conferences, including many international,/workshops/ seminars/
training programs.
