Thematic Workshop cum Panel discussion on
Technology for Libraries: Highest-Technology & Best Features, Yet Affordable & Future Proof

Background:
While a demo would be provided, the workshop will explain the following aspects in detail:

• What are the technological benefits for a Library by using KOHA?

• What are the environmental benefits for a Library by using KOHA?

• What are the financial benefits for a Library by using KOHA?

• What is Open-Source and Why use Open-Source?

• What is the best technology for a Library and Why?

• Why use Linux?

• Why KOHA?

The workshop will explore and explain these issues through a presentation-cum-demo and also provide a hand-out to all participants/visitors. The workshop will give a technological comparison of KOHA with proprietary systems. Besides, a list of URLs of KOHA users will be provided as reference points.

The workshop will also have a open question answer platform for facilitating KOHA users or future benefits.
