Research Associate


Job Profile

1. Support the design, implementation, and monitoring of carbon finance and restoration projects.
2. Conduct field surveys, monitoring & evaluation, and consultancy tasks in forestry, agroforestry, restoration, and natural resource management.
3. Prepare project reports, monitoring documents, stakeholder consultation material, and communication outputs.
4. Support the drafting of project proposals, RFPs, and EOIs across carbon finance, forest restoration, wildlife, NRM, community, and value chain initiatives.
5. Participate in internal/external meetings, workshops, and dissemination activities.
6. Contribute to publications, including scientific papers and policy briefs.
7. Use GIS/Remote Sensing tools (ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Earth) and digital data collection tools (KoboToolbox, eBird, iNaturalist etc)
8. Willingness to travel for fieldwork and project-related activities (domestic/international).


Experience

0 - 2 Years


Qualification

Master-s degree in forestry- Natural Resource Management- Geography- Environmental Management- Wildlife Science / Ecology / Biodiversity Conservation or related fields.


Skills

1. Basic understanding of forest inventory methods (DBH- height- biomass estimation).
2. Ability to assist in plot establishment- carbon stock data collection- and field surveys.
3. Awareness of climate- ecology- agroforestry- and environmental/forestry regulations
4. Microsoft Office Suite (Word- Excel- PowerPoint- etc.)- Email communication skills.
5. Report writing- communication- and presentation skills
