Research Associate


Job Profile

- Conduct research and analysis on energy sector trends, policies, and technologies.
- Support preparation of policy and regulatory knowledge products on energy efficiency.
- Build and manage national and state-/DISCOM-specific models, including optimal capacity expansion, production cost optimisation, and resource adequacy models.
- Assess the integration of energy-efficiency measures within capacity-expansion and system planning models.
- Support the organization of review meetings, workshops, and dissemination events.


Experience

2 - 4 Years


Qualification

- Post graduate degree in Electrical/ Power System/Energy Economics or a related field.
- Minimum two years of research experience.


Skills

- Understanding of energy data management- sectoral transitions- and sustainability frameworks.
- Exposure to the Energy Conservation Act 2001- Electricity Act 2003- and the rules and regulations made under the two Acts.
- Strong analytical and research capabilities in energy sector modelling and data analysis.
- Exposure to power system modelling in software such as PLEXOS- GridPath- PyPSA- GAMS.
- Excellent programming skills in Python- MATLAB- or Julia and experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI- Tableau- etc.
- Excellent communication and writing abilities.
