Job Profile

- Provide strategic direction on research and policy analysis related to energy sector reforms, emerging technologies, and the clean energy transition.
- Lead development of Compendium of Energy Efficiency Rules and Regulations.
- Undertake regulatory gap assessments through research, international benchmarking, and stakeholder consultations.
- Oversee the design, application, and validation of advanced modeling tools (capacity expansion, production cost, resource adequacy, demand-side integration) at national and state/DISCOM levels.
- Manage project teams, mentor junior researchers, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Coordinate with BEE and other stakeholders for validation, review, and dissemination of research outputs.
- Support the design and execution of stakeholder workshops and consultations.


Experience

5 - 9 Years


Qualification

- Ph.D. in Electrical/Electronics/Power Systems/Energy Economics or related fields with at least 2 years of relevant research or policy experience; or a Post-graduate degree in the same fields with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

- Good understanding of the Energy Conservation Act 2001- Electricity Act 2003- and the rules and regulations made under the two Acts
- Experience in policy research- preferably in energy efficiency or sustainability domains.
- Proficiency in power system modelling software such as PLEXOS- GridPath- PyPSA- GAMS.
- Excellent programming skills in Python- MATLAB- or Julia and experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI- Tableau- etc.
- Excellent writing- communication- and stakeholder engagement skills.
