Project Consultant


Job Profile

TERI is seeking a Project Consultant to join the Transport and Urban Governance team in New Delhi, India. This position provides a unique opportunity for those willing to work with ministries, urban local bodies, policy thinktanks, research institutions, embassies, and multi-lateral organizations to facilitate the technical and capacity building assistance required for developing sustainable, smart, and resilient cities.
The candidate will be a part of the project, Integrated Urban Climate Action for Low-Carbon and Resilient Cities (Urban-Act). They will be responsible for research collection and analysis in the project associated cities, outreach activities, and provide technical inputs as per requirement. The candidate is also required to carry out the fieldwork as per requirement of the projects.
- Conduct strategic planning, research, and data collection activities on themes related to climate science, climate mitigation and adaptation, sustainable urban development, urban governance, and climate and disaster risk resilience.
- Lead or contribute to the development of knowledge products, including policy briefs, working papers, research proposals, journal articles, and blogs.
- Undertake climate and disaster risk assessments to support evidence-based planning and decision-making at the city and regional levels.
- Develop outreach content for platforms such as social media, websites, newsletters, and press releases to effectively communicate project objectives and findings, while ensuring proper branding and visibility across all materials.
- Plan, manage, and coordinate project events, including stakeholder consultations, training workshops, conferences, and dissemination of knowledge products


Experience

5 - 10 Years


Qualification

Master-s degree in Climate Sciences/ Urban Planning/Urban Development/Sustainable Development/ Public Policy any other relevant social sciences field.


Skills

- A firm grasp of qualitative and quantitative research skills and data analysis in the fields of urban development- governance- and climate resilience.
- 5-10 years of relevant professional experience with reputed public/private sector agencies- national/international development organizations- research/policy think tanks- or multilateral/bilateral institutions.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting climate and disaster risk assessments to inform urban planning and policy decisions.
- Proficiency in conducting risk analysis for informed decision-making.
- Adequate knowledge of municipal bylaws and city-level climate assessment frameworks.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively in teams- take initiative- act responsibly and flexibly- and contribute innovative ideas.
- Proficiency in English and Hindi. Knowledge of any other national or international language will be an added advantage.
- Willingness to travel domestically as per project requirements.
