Fermentation Scientist (R&D)


Job Profile

Manage the setup, operation, and maintenance of fermentation equipment including bioreactors, fermenters, and centrifuges.

Monitor and optimize key fermentation parameters (pH, temperature, oxygen levels, pressure, agitation, nutrients) to ensure optimal microbial growth and yield.

Perform microbial quality assessments and routine microbiological techniques such as cultivation of fungi and bacteria.
-
Coordinate and liaise with scientists to support fermentation requirements across projects.
-
Collect, analyze, and report fermentation data and contribute to timely delivery of research project reports.

Participate in downstream processing and contribute to product yield and quality improvement.
-
Identify and report equipment malfunctions or process deviations in compliance with safety and quality control protocols.
-
Remain updated with current research to support innovation in fermentation and bioprocessing techniques.


Experience

4 - 5 Years


Qualification

-
M.Tech in Industrial Biotechnology or M.Sc. in Microbiology/Biotechnology with strong academic credentials.
-
Minimum 4-5 years of hands-on experience in R&D-based fermentation in academic- industrial- or S&T organizations.


Skills

-
Strong grasp of fermentation science- microbiological principles- and process optimization.

Familiarity with GLP- biosafety- and QC protocols.

Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills in fermentation and microbiological systems.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
-
Highly motivated- solution-oriented- and a proactive team player.
