Job Profile

The role will involve research on sustainable transportation in India, including decarbonization strategies, policy research, energy losses, energy efficiency, and renewable energy. Brief outline of responsibilities:\r\n\r\n- Develop and apply transport models to estimate and forecast transport activity indicators, energy demand & emissions.\r\n- Quantify emissions reductions from transport interventions (electrification, modal shift, fuel switching, efficiency) against defined baselines.\r\n- Compile, clean, and manage large datasets from surveys, national and international statistics.\r\n- Develop and maintain dashboards (primarily Excel-based; scripting tools where required).\r\n- Support preparation of technical reports, policy briefs and presentations.\r\n- Organize stakeholder consultations and workshops.

Qualification

Master-s degree (or higher) in Economics/Energy Economics/Environmental Economics/Engineering/Statistics/Econometrics/Data Science- with coursework or thesis involving quantitative analysis

Skills

- Demonstrated experience (academic or professional) in transport- energy- or emissions modelling.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel- including data validation and error-checking controls; and creation of dynamic dashboards using Pivot Tables- charts- and slicers.
- Practical experience using Python- R- or Stata.
- Ability to handle and analyse large datasets
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks within time-bound- project-driven environments.
- Data visualization (Power BI- Tableau- etc.)
