Job Profile

Laboratory Research and Analysis
- Conduct laboratory analysis using appropriate analytical instruments and techniques.
- Develop, validate, and optimize analytical methods for relevant chemical and physical parameters.
- Ensure proper calibration, operation, and maintenance of laboratory instruments.
Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC)
- Establish and implement QA/QC protocols for laboratory analysis and data validation.
- Ensure adherence to relevant laboratory standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain laboratory records, calibration logs, and analytical documentation.
Data Analysis and Interpretation
- Analyze and interpret laboratory data using appropriate statistical and scientific tools.
- Ensure integrity, accuracy, and proper documentation of analytical data.
- Prepare analytical datasets and summaries for integration into project reports.
Scientific Publication and Dissemination
- Lead or contribute to the preparation of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, policy briefs, and scientific documentation.
- Present research findings in scientific meetings, workshops, and conferences where required.

Qualification

- PhD in Environmental Science- Environmental Engineering- Atmospheric Science- Chemistry- Chemical Engineering- or a related discipline from a recognized university/institution.

Skills

Supervision and Capacity Building
- Supervise laboratory staff- research associates- and technical assistants involved in laboratory work.
- Provide technical guidance on sampling protocols- sample handling- and analytical procedures.
- Train laboratory personnel in analytical techniques- QA/QC procedures- and laboratory safety practices.
Coordination and Collaboration
- Coordinate with field teams for sample collection- storage- and transport.
- Collaborate with internal project teams and external laboratories where required.
- Support interdisciplinary research and integration of laboratory results with broader project outputs.
