Research Associate


Job Profile

- Conduct fieldwork in coal and renewable energy regions, including stakeholder consultations and primary data collection
- Support needs assessments, skill mapping, and socio-economic studies
- Assist in data analysis (qualitative and quantitative) and synthesis of findings
- Contribute to report writing, policy briefs, and knowledge products
- Support concept notes, proposals, and donor communications
- Participate in workshops, stakeholder consultations, and project execution activities
- Assist in documentation and dissemination of project outputs


Experience

1 - 2 Years


Qualification

- Master-s degree in relevant fields (e.g.- development studies- public policy- economics- energy studies- social sciences)/B.Tech with 2-3 years of experience
- 1-2 years of relevant and prior experience (internships included) is preferred
- Strong writing- research- and analytical skills
- Willingness to travel extensively and work in field settings
- Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams


Skills

We are looking for a motivated Research Associate to support ongoing work on just and inclusive energy transitions in India. The role involves a mix of field-based research- analytical work- and knowledge development across themes such as livelihoods- skill transitions- and inclusive development in energy geographies.

- Interest in energy justice- just and equitable transition- gender equity- and social inclusion (GESI)
- Familiarity with GIS tools (e.g.- Q-GIS/ ArcGIS etc.) for spatial analysis and mapping of energy and socio-economic data.
- Familiarity with livelihoods- rural development- or labour issues
- Exposure to field-based research methods
- Basic understanding of India-s energy transition landscape
