Project Associate (Soil Science)


Job Profile

Proficiency in soil sample collection, processing, and preparation for laboratory analysis. - Perform, analyse, and interpret laboratory tests to determine soil nutrient levels including total and available NPK, pH, texture, organic matter, and moisture retention. - Conduct comprehensive soil analyses to assess soil composition, fertility, and physical characteristics. - Ensure proper calibration, operation, and maintenance of laboratory instruments. - Maintain quality control and standardization of analytical procedures. - Record, compile, and statistically analyze experimental data. - Prepare technical reports, research manuscripts, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. - Highly motivated, solution-oriented, and should be able to work in a multidisciplinary team - Ensure compliance with biosafety and laboratory protocols

Qualification

M.Sc. in Soil Science / Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry with specialization in soil physico-chemical analysis and enzyme assays. - National eligibility tests such as CSIR-NET- GATE or National level examination conducted by central government departments and their agencies.


Skills

Hands-on experience with soil biological and biochemical assays. - Familiarity with spectrophotometry- flame photometry- and CHNS analyzers. - Knowledge of standard soil analysis protocols (ICAR/ISO/FAO methods). - Experience in data analysis software (Excel- R- SPSS- or similar). - Ability to work independently as well as in a team-based research environment. - Good documentation and scientific writing skills.
