Job Profile

The candidate will work on a Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India) funded Project on Green Aviation Fuel Production from Renewable Biomass (Agro-Residue) based Pyrolytic Bio Oil with LCA and TEA Studies which will involve catalytic pyrolysis, pyrolysis product fractionation and conversion to JET Fuel range products. \r\nThe RA (II/III) will be required to work in pilot pyrolysis reactor and other high-pressure reactors. Initial Position for 3 years.

Qualification

PhD in Chemical Engg/ Chemistry/Energy Science and Engg/ Petrochemical Engg or Masters (MSc/MTech/ME) in Chemical Engg/Energy Science and Technology with up to 3 years of experience in catalytic biofuel conversion (thermochemical route only). \r\n\r\nAny previous research experience related to Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production through Alcohol to JET (ATJ) or HEFA Process or Pyrolysis oil upgradation and fractionation will be given preference.\r\nStrong Analytical skills for Analysis of jet fuel products using GCMS/Calorimeter/ TGA/ GC/ NMR/ FTIR/ Brookfield Viscometer/ Freezing Point Analyzer are desirable. \r\n\r\nFresh PhD or Master-s with 2-3 years of experience in Chemical Engg. / Chemistry/Energy Engg. preferred.

Skills

- Heterogenous catalyst synthesis- Deoxygenation catalytic and hydrotreatment of bio-oil- Hydrothermal Liquefaction (HTL) or Thermochemical biomass conversion (Pyrolysis & Gasification only)
- Very good technical writing skills in English is an absolute necessity.
- Should be able to write quality research papers in high impact factor Journals.
- Able to evaluate- analyze and interpret results- identify next steps/key challenges and conduct experiments in pilot reactors.
- Excellent team spirit- communication skills- highly motivated- hard-working and high level of integrity. Prior knowledge in LCA and techno-economic evaluation (preferred).
