Junior Research Fellow (JRF)


Job Profile

The candidate will work on a Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India) funded Project on Green Aviation Fuel Production from Renewable Biomass (Agro-Residue) based Pyrolytic Bio Oil with LCA and TEA Studies which will involve catalytic pyrolysis, pyrolysis product fractionation and conversion to JET Fuel range products. \r\nThe JRF will be required to work in pilot pyrolysis reactor and other high-pressure reactors. Initial Position for 2 years. Depending on performance can be extended.

Qualification

Masters (MSc/MTech/ME) in Chemistry/ Chemical Engg/Energy Science and Technology with at least 1 year of experience in making and analyzing heterogenous catalyst- catalytic biofuel conversion (thermochemical route only). \r\n\r\nStrong Analytical skills for Analysis of pyrolysis products using GCMS/Calorimeter/TGA/GC/NMR/FTIR are desirable. Fresh Masters with 1-2 years of experience in Chemistry/Chemical Engg. /Energy Engg preferred.


Skills

- Organic Chemistry with catalyst synthesis research and / previous research experience in Sustainable Aviation Fuel production will be given first preference.
- Heterogenous catalyst synthesis- Deoxygenation catalytic and hydrotreatment of bio-oil- CO2 valorization- Hydrothermal conversation- Thermochemical biomass conversion (pyrolysis & gasification etc.)
- Very good technical writing skills in English is an absolute necessity.
- Able to evaluate- analyze and interpret results- identify next steps/key challenges and conduct experiments in pilot reactors.
- Excellent team spirit- communication skills- highly motivated- hard-working and high level of integrity.

As per DST/Government norms for JRF (Rs 37000+27% HRA =Rs 46990/-)
