Research Associate/ Associate Fellow-Nuclear


Job Profile

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and technical assessments on Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), advanced nuclear technologies, and their role in clean energy transitions.
- Support the development of state-level and sectoral roadmaps for nuclear energy deployment, including techno-economic analysis, energy system planning, policy assessment, and implementation pathways.
- Analyse nuclear technologies, reactor concepts, fuel cycles, supply chain, safety considerations, regulatory frameworks, and global best practices to support evidence-based decision-making.
- Support energy system modelling, scenario analysis, demand forecasting, and assessment of clean energy pathways integrating nuclear and renewable energy technologies.
- Contribute to research projects on renewable energy, energy transition, decarbonisation, and emerging clean energy technologies as required.
- Prepare technical reports, policy briefs, research papers, project proposals, conference papers, and presentations.

Qualification

Qualifications & Profile
- Bachelor-s degree in Mechanical Engineering- Electrical Engineering- Energy Engineering- or a related engineering discipline.
- Master-s degree in Nuclear Engineering- Nuclear Science- Nuclear Technology- Energy Systems Engineering- or a closely related field.


Skills

The Electricity & Renewables Division at TERI is seeking an early-career professional with a background in Mechanical Engineering- Electrical Engineering- or Energy Engineering- and a Master-s specialization in Nuclear Engineering- Nuclear Science- Nuclear Technology- or a related discipline.
The selected candidate will contribute to research and consultancy projects on nuclear energy- Small Modular Reactors (SMRs)- advanced reactor technologies- and clean energy transition- while also supporting multidisciplinary projects in renewable energy and emerging clean energy technologies.
