Research Associate


Job Profile

- Lead projects on coastal biodiversity and protection under changing climate, marine living organisms and their vulnerabilities to marine pollution/eutrophication.
- Conduct both field and lab-based research and engage in R&D works (such as product development from marine resources)
- Design and execute sampling protocols, sample collection, monitoring, surveys, and ensure data quality.
- Scuba diving and underwater habitat/biota monitoring and reporting
- Prepare research proposals, grant writing, reports, publications, presentations in conferences.
- Experience with molecular, microbiological, or biotechnological techniques relevant to marine research will be an added advantage.
- Engage with partner organisations (government, NGO, communities) as required.
- Business travel depending on project requirements.
- Support other relevant projects as and when required.


Experience

0 - 3 Years


Qualification

- Master-s degree (MSc) in Marine Science / Marine Biology / Fishery / Marine Biotechnology or allied subjects
- Doctoral and/or 2-3 years research experience after MSc. Those who have submitted thesis are also eligible.


Skills

- Proficiency in data analysis- paper writing skills- impactful power point preparation- communication skills.
- Ability to work under hostile field conditions and awareness of safety requirements.
- Ability to collaborate in teams and deliver under timelines
Experience of working in marine related projects- field experience in coastal settings- certified SCUBA diver with experience in underwater surveys.
- Analyse datasets using statistical/spatial/ marine data visualization tools tools (R- Python- QGIS- ODV).
