TERI SAS is a leader in the field of education for sustainable development and environmental studies offering Masters and Ph.D programmes in Delhi/NCR. The academic programmes at the TERI SAS are envisioned to provide students with a holistic perspective of the subject and encourage interdisciplinary learning.
Enables a thorough grounding in macroeconomics, microeconomics, and quantitative methods, alongside an in-depth knowledge of the economics and policy of environmental pollution, renewable and non-renewable resource use, and interaction between globalization and environmental degradation. The students are expected to acquire a high degree of technical ability and a sound understanding of economic theory to cater to career needs in governments, corporations, international organizations, and academia.

The programme addresses the technical, management, policy, regulatory, and economic aspects of solar thermal, solar photovoltaic, wind, biofuels and biomass, grid integration, energy efficiency, energy conservation, energy auditing, and green buildings. Students are trained to analyse the environment, energy, and socio-economic implications of green energy systems. It strives to establish a vibrant network of industry and academic institutions, collaborating for the development of learning resources and training material leading to significant capacity creation at various levels. The M.A. course in Sustainable Development Practices is an excellent program for the mid-career professionals like myself to take their careers to a new level. The diversity of the faculty and students along with the innovative pedagogy methods have helped me gain experience in various new professional & technical skills.
I believe that apart from the quality education and competent grooming that we get here, just being a part of this institute opens up a whole world of opportunities that not many others get. With the population growth that India envisages, the rural to urban shift is inevitable thus creating a demand for developing urban centres, which would be managed by a cadre of urban development professionals. The course structure at the TERI SAS combines the cross-functional aspects of the city's functioning. The learnings from lectures and laboratory sessions provided me with a strong base for deciding my project with the North Delhi Municipal Corporation, which was the first of its kind in the solid waste management sector.
