Ensuring 24x7 Reliable Power Supply to the People of Goa: Strategies for Greening the Sector and Improving the Reliability of Power Supply
The growing demand and inefficient infrastructure clearly indicate the need for value-based reliability planning; value-based planning is an approach for comparing the incremental costs of improved reliability in generation, transmission, or distribution systems against the incremental benefits of improved system reliability. The cost of improving the reliability of electricity supply should not exceed the value of the economic loss to consumers. This helps the decision makers to establish the need for additional investments and identify appropriate mix of resources to meet the system demand. In this context, TERI proposes to conduct a comprehensive assessment to identify strategies/measures to aid value-based planning for Goa's power sector.
