Dr Nidhi P Chanana, Fellow and Area Convenor, Sustainable Agriculture Division, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi, has more than 18 years of experience in agricultural biotechnology. She obtained her doctorate degree from the University of Delhi and has been working on enhancing food security through biotech approaches. She is also an Adjunct Faculty with TERI University.
Since 2006, she has been working on livelihood security in remote villages in Uttarakhand, focussing on enhancing water and land use efficiency, building micro-entrepreneurship with post-harvest value addition, and provision of market access for building all-inclusive capacities of the farmers. She is also working on promoting agricultural diversity for achieving food and nutritional security in Uttarakhand.
