Water governance and management goes beyond traditional field of engineering because of multi-level (local, regional, and sub-national) and multi-dimensional (economic, social and environmental) factors. The Department aspires to provide a platform for various actors to come together for innovative ideas, capacity-building and consensus building for joint action on water challenges of tomorrow.
The Department has attained leadership position in offering programmes relevant for development professionals (fresh as well as mid-career) well-equipped to tackle, beyond cultural boundaries and across sectoral divisions, the interwoven challenges of water sustainability.
The Department maintains relevance of its programmes through regular interaction opportunities with international experts, field visits, and participation in events. It strives to establish a vibrant network of industry and academic institutions, collaborating for the development of learning resources and training material leading to significant capacity creation at various levels. The Department is proactive in public advocacy of sustainability of water resources.
