Industrial Energy
TERI is one of the few organizations known for promoting energy
efficiency practices for Indian industries. During last 15 years period,
IE (Industrial Energy) Group has grown as a ‘specialist organization’
dealing with concerted programmes covering several main elements of the
industrial energy with emphasis on promotion of energy efficiency, improvement
concepts, and practices falling under consultancy, training and research,
and information dissemination.
The thrust areas of the group mainly categorized
as ‘comprehensive energy audit’ of major equipments for energy
efficiency, analysis and advice on possible improvements in all sectors
of industries. Thus, activities widely covers various sectors including
energy, water, power quality, electrical safety, practical energy audit
programmes, education, information dissemination, and awareness building

Environmental
Studies
The ES (Environmental Studies) group offers knowledge
based services and solutions in the areas of policy research, analytical
studies, technology design, and implementation of interventions. Over
the years, the ES group has expanded its portfolio of activities to address
a diverse range of environmental issues across rural and urban settings.
The focused areas of activity include environmental services and solutions
to the industrial/corporate sector. more>>
Rural
& Renewable Energy
TERI has been committed to enabling rural communities
that face challenges of energy and NRM (natural resource management) in
a sustainable and rewarding manner. The RRE (Rural and Renewable Energy)
Area is mandated to direct TERI’s efforts in NRM sector with an
emphasis on analysis, evaluation, and assessment of energy. Besides, the
stress is laid on implementing sustainable solutions for rural problems
related to NRM and energy uses.
RRE deals with issues relating to rural energy
and livelihood issues, including institutional and market linkages, at
the grassroots level. The area implements projects and programmes for
the efficient and sustainable use of energy and natural resources by rural
economic sectors by formulating associations with number of government
