Architect Kiriti Sahoo was born and brought up in the temple city of Bhubaneswar. An architect by profession, he graduated in B.Arch. from NIT Trichy (2005) and M. Arch from University of Arizona (2008) and a registered architect with Council of Architecture, India. His core competency & expertise lies in architectural design, sustainable architecture and natural ventilation design. Mr. Sahoo has a total experience of 12 years in green building industry with more than 30 consultancy projects, 8 research projects and disseminated results in multiple institutions. His experience in research and consultancy has been shared with academic institutions where he visits as expert faculty to NIT Trichy and Manipal University. He acts as an advisor to NIT Trichy on various capacities as mentor, curriculum developer, and software and hardware up-gradation for architecture department. He has presented on green buildings in more than 15 colleges and research institutions. He has won several academic proficiency awards, endowment award for best thesis in B.Arch. He received his Graduate Fellowship for M. Arch from University of Arizona. He has developed various instruments during his M. Arch in US, most notably a wind tunnel for the department of architecture in University of Arizona. He is proficient in empirical and software based assessments of building physics concerning natural airflow in buildings along with assessing thermal comfort in non-air-conditioned spaces. Currently, he is researching on thermal comfort of naturally ventilated spaces in humid areas to study its impact at site and building level.
