Discussions at Marrakesh conference of partnerships: TERI21 November 2016| Business Standard
According to TERI, the discussions at the recently concluded climate change conference at Marrakesh were of \"partnerships\" as 22 countries joined the India-led International Solar Alliance, a brainchild of Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi. The conference also looked to define climate actions that can be \"fast-forwarded\" in four years before the requirements of the Paris Agreement become operative in 2020, said TERI, while terming the summit as that of action and implementation.

A white paper on the wind energy sector in the country taking stock of the challenges and opportunities besides serving as a document to mobilise government support is being readied by TERI. Commissioned by the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA), the white paper, dwelling on various aspects of the sector, is likely to be released early next year. In the run-up to the preparation, the Association and the TERI recently organised a round table consultation.

Amid worsening air quality in Delhi, TERI has released a ten-point emergency response plan, including reduction of crop burning and ban on movement of all 10-year-old vehicles in the Delhi-NCR amongst others. TERI has submitted the plan to Delhi government and the Union Environment Ministry, recommending that it be enforced immediately in whole of NCR on forecast days of very high pollution.
