    With its global presence world over, TERI will showcase Himachal as a model hill state for green growth and sustainable development in its international projects in Europe, Korea, China and Japan. Director-General of TERI, Dr R K Pachauri, said that the hill state had truly positioned itself in a place of leadership with respect to sustainable development.

    The focus of energy efficiency has usually been large buildings, whether residential or commercial. Now, there is a project that will help smaller buildings reduce their carbon footprint. An offshoot of GRIHA - the green rating for integrated habitat assessment - SVAGRIHA has been conceptualized especially for buildings that are less than 2500 sq m. The project was launched earlier this year by TERI and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
