The conference has thrown light on issues of concern and
possible interventions at the teacher's level, which
can be applicable in the classroom. Focus was kept on the
school curriculum and the ways and means of integrating climate
change issues within the existing curriculum. The sessions
on value education and leadership, and environment education
incorporated within the NCERT textbooks, non-formal, and formal
tools and methods of teaching provided appropriate required
guidance for the breakaway working group session.
The three-day programme focused on these issues and their
integration into a day-to-day teaching-learning processes-water
management; disaster management; green cover; household energy;
transport; human health; lifestyle change; waste management;
coastal zones; and mountain regions.
The presence of Shri Subhash C Khuntia, Joint Secretary,

inaugural reinforced the relevance of environment education
in the school curriculum. The valedictory function was presided
