Course details

Renewable energy has a strong role to play in the continuously growing concerns of the sustainability of the development that is taking place in the modern day society. The depleting nature of the fossil fuel that is the dominant source of energy of the present world and also the emissions associated with it has necessitated the exploration of the alternative sources of energy.

TERI, an organization which is continuously involved in the research and development on renewable energy technology innovations has always attempted to bridge its practical application in the real field. With experts dedicated to various fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency and having a long term experience in this field, TERI always makes effort to share its knowledge for the promotion of the effective use of renewable energy and creating awareness in the energy efficiency measures.

With this vision for the mass application of renewable energy as a mission, TERI has been conducting international training programmes on renewable energy and energy efficiency.

The programme aims at creating awareness among the participants of various countries and sensitizing them towards the role of renewable that it will play in the sustainability of future development. The course covers the basics of different sources and forms of energy, viz., solar, wind, biomass based system development – issues and challenges, role of renewable energy and energy efficiency, small hydro technology, analysis tool for renewable energy, rural energy related issues and challenges and also the policies related to renewable energy. The training course is structured in such a fashion so as to give the participants both the theoretical understanding of the various fields of renewable energy as well as the demonstration of its practical applications with special reference to the developing countries.

The cost of the course, travel, and stay of the selected participant will be borne by ITEC (Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India).
