Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation will be commissioning a green waste for electricity generation at its Turbhe landfill site mid-December. It is a pilot project undertaken with TERI under the Eco City programme to reduce the carbon footprint. TERI has developed a gasifier that will be installed at the site to generate 20 KW (kilowatt) daily to light up the high masts at the landfill site.
