| Prof. Sen argued
that if development is viewed as the expansion of human
freedom, it becomes immediately clear that development
cannot be divorced from ecological and environmental concerns.
He emphasised that “environmental issues are inescapable
parts of the battle against poverty", and hoped that
the conference would help highlight poverty removal and
environmental enrichment as two parts of an integrated
task.
Prof. Sen also released TERI’s
publication “GREEN India 2047 Renewed: Looking
Back to Change Track”.
